Seminar on the Interpretation of the Decrees of His Excellency the Amir al-Mu’minin (May Allah Protect Him) and Combating Narcotics Held
On Monday a one-day academic seminar titled “Interpretation of the Decrees of His Excellency the Amir al-Mu’minin (May Allah Protect Him) and Combating Narcotics” was organized by the Professional Development Center under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the Afghan International Islamic University. The seminar was attended by members of the University’s Leadership Council and faculty members.
The session commenced with an opening speech by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Wahid Liaqat. In his remarks he elaborated on key aspects of the endorsed decrees of His Excellency the Amir al-Mu’minin (May Allah Protect Him) as well as the related doctrinal texts. He also emphasized the importance of implementing these decrees in practice.
Furthermore he presented in detail one of the endorsed decrees concerning human trafficking, stating that human trafficking is strictly prohibited under Islamic law. He stressed the importance of raising public awareness so that individuals become informed about the harmful consequences of leaving the country through illegal means and refrain from such actions.
Subsequently, Associate Professor Dr. Hamidullah Hamid from the Faculty of Medicine delivered a comprehensive presentation on narcotics, including their identification, types, and their adverse effects on human health, families, and society. He also underscored the importance of collective cooperation and public awareness in preventing drug abuse.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants shared their questions and views, which were addressed thoroughly and satisfactorily by the presenting lecturers.
It is noteworthy that the Afghan International Islamic University, through the continuous organization of such academic and awareness programs, plays a significant role in enhancing academic standards and strengthening public awareness in society.
