A welcoming and appreciation ceremony was held at the Afghan International Islamic University for newly admitted students and outstanding scholars. The event was attended by the University President, Associate Professor Dr. Rafiullah Atta, vice presidents, deans of faculties, professors, and students.
In his address, Associate Professor Dr. Rafiullah Atta congratulated and welcomed the new and distinguished students, emphasizing the value and necessity of knowledge.
Dr. Atta stated that through knowledge, we can serve our religion and our country. He added that favorable conditions for education are now available in the country, and therefore, students must strive to achieve their goals — which include the nation’s progress, prosperity, and self-sufficiency in all fields — so that Afghanistan can stand alongside developed nations.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Abdul Malik Niazi, Deputy for Student Affairs, delivered a presentation entitled “The Academic Environment of the University” to introduce the university to the new students.
Meanwhile, representing the students, Hikmatullah Hikmat, a lecturer from the Faculty of Sharia, expressed gratitude to the university leadership and professors for their tireless efforts, noting that the Afghan International Islamic University provides all necessary facilities for learning and promptly addresses student concerns.
Hikmatullah Hikmat also urged recent bachelor’s degree graduates to continue their higher education—master’s and doctoral studies—within the country.
It is worth mentioning that the Afghan International Islamic University plans to establish a Faculty of Computer Science in the near future, alongside the existing faculties of Medicine, Sharia, Engineering, and Agriculture, in order to provide opportunities for master’s and doctoral-level studies in this field for Afghan students.
