Scientific Conference on the Application of DNA Technology in Modern Sciences Held.
Yesterday on Monday, corresponding to the 20th of Dalwa, 1401 (Solar Hijri), a one-day scientific conference entitled “Application of DNA Technology in Modern Sciences (Medicine and Agriculture)” was held at the initiative of the Deputyship of Academic Affairs of Afghan International Islamic University.
The conference was attended by the Honorable President of Afghan International Islamic University, Pohandoy Dr. Rafiullah Atta, the deputies of Academic Affairs, Research, and the Scientific Journal, officials from the External Relations Department of the Ministry of Public Health, representatives of several governmental and private hospitals and universities, as well as faculty members and students.
At the opening of the program, the President of Afghan International Islamic University, Pohandoy Dr. Rafiullah Atta, welcomed the participants and delivered a comprehensive speech on the importance of scientific conferences and the vital role of academic research. He stated that the Islamic Emirate has provided the necessary facilities for faculty members in the field of scientific research, enabling them to conduct their research within the framework of humanitarian and Sharia principles.
Subsequently, Professor Dr. Jawhar Ali, a faculty member of the Faculty of Agriculture, presented the first scientific session of the conference. His presentation included detailed discussions on the introduction to DNA, the structure of DNA, and its applications in the fields of health, agriculture, economics, and crime detection.
The second scientific session was presented by Dr. Ahmad Iqbal Alavi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Medicine, which covered important topics such as the significance of genomics in medicine, infectious diseases, diagnosis of infectious diseases, molecular basis of infectious diseases, and the impact of disease-causing microbes on public health.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants raised their questions regarding the presented topics, which were answered satisfactorily by the respective lecturers.
It is noteworthy that Afghan International Islamic University plans to organize similar scientific conferences in the future, aiming to provide a platform for researchers and faculty members to share their scientific findings with a wider academic audience.
