Agriculture Faculty

Introduction

Within the framework of Afghan International Islamic University, the Faculty of Agriculture was established in 1400 AH (2021-2022) based on the decision of the Cabinet of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, considering the importance of the agricultural sector in the country. This faculty operates only at the postgraduate level (Master’s and PhD) and currently runs four academic programs. At present, the Master’s programs in the Departments of "Agricultural Economics and Rural Development" and "Animal Nutrition and Production" are active, while PhD programs are running in the Departments of "Agronomy" and "Horticulture". The faculty aims to implement postgraduate programs across all agricultural disciplines and provide professional and specialized experts to the community. It also strives to become a recognized center for scientific research in agriculture, contributing to agricultural innovation, self-sufficiency in products, and food security for the growing population.

The Faculty of Agriculture aims to establish professional knowledge and skills in agriculture as a recognized scientific and research center and to effectively contribute to the economic development of society.

The Faculty of Agriculture works to train specialized and professional staff through educational, research, and extension services, addressing the needs of society in the agricultural sector.

1. Teaching

  • Started Master’s program in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development (first and second cohort).

2. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)

  • Internal MoUs with various universities in the country.
  • MoU with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock.
  • MoU with Nangarhar Canal Company.
  • MoU with the National University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Afghanistan.

3. Practical Activities

  • Establishment of research farms for students and faculty scientific studies.
  • Creation of laboratory facilities for practical use.
  • Collaboration with relevant institutions and organizations for agricultural projects and field visits.

1. Domestic Trips

Academic visits to various government and private universities across the country to strengthen bilateral relationships.

Visits to universities in Pakistan and other countries for faculty recruitment and international collaboration.

3. Student Trips

Visits to research farms, laboratories, and agricultural projects of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock for practical experience.
