A scientific conference titled “Islamic Economics in Confronting the Contemporary Economic System” was presented.
A one-day scientific conference was organized by the Directorate of the Professional Development Center (PDC) under the Academic Affairs Vice-Chancellorship of the Afghan International Islamic University.
The conference was attended by university vice-chancellors, faculty members, as well as the heads and academic deputies of several public and private universities.
The conference began with an opening speech by Associate Professor Dr. Abdulwahid Liaqat, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the university. He welcomed the participants and provided introductory information about the importance of the conference.
Then, Dr. Ashraf Mohammad Dawaba, a lecturer at the Faculty of Sharia, presented his academic topic.
He compared the fundamental principles of Islamic economics with the contemporary economic system and explained their contrasting points. He added that Islamic economics serves as a beneficial, just, and transparent alternative for the global community.
At the end of the session, participants were given a special opportunity for questions, answers, and exchange of views.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Ashraf Mohammad Dawaba had previously delivered a scientific conference titled “Islamic Banking.”
