Brief Introduction of the Library
Afghan International Islamic University has a total of two libraries, one located in the new building and the other in the old building. Both libraries include books related to various faculties and departments such as Engineering, Medicine, Sharia, Psychology, History, Philosophy, Management, Computer Science, Economics, Agriculture, English Literature, and many other fields.
Library Regulations
Article One: General Principles
- These regulations are established to maintain order in the library, to protect the books, and to facilitate students and staff.
- The library is a public place for knowledge dissemination, academic research, and study.
Article Two: Library Access and Usage Hours
- The library is open from Saturday to Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- If necessary, the librarian has the authority to extend or reduce the working hours.
Article Three: Membership Conditions
- To use the library services, everyone must be a library member.
- Membership becomes active after filling out the official form and receiving a library card.
- The library card is only for the person whose name it is issued under; giving it to others is prohibited.
Article Four: Use of Books
- Books are loaned only for a specified period (generally 14 days).
- If a member wishes to keep a book longer, he/she must request an extension from the librarian.
- Books must be returned in the same condition as borrowed.
Article Five: Preservation of Books
- Underlining, tearing, writing, or damaging pages of books is strictly prohibited.
- If someone damages or loses a book, they must replace it with a new copy or pay its price.
- Rare and valuable books may only be borrowed with the librarian’s permission.
Article Six: Maintaining Library Order
- Silence must be observed inside the library.
- Mobile phone use is only allowed in emergencies.
- Bringing food and drinks into the library is prohibited.
- Every member must follow the instructions of the library staff.
Article Seven: Violations
- If a member does not comply with library rules, the library reserves the right to suspend or terminate their membership.
Article Eight: Final Provisions
- These regulations are effective from the date of approval.
- The librarian is responsible for implementing and supervising these regulations.
Library Facilities
1. Physical Space Facilities
- Study halls with a quiet environment.
- Computer laboratory or internet rooms.
- Conference and seminar hall.
2. Books and Material Facilities
- Printed books (Textbooks, Reference Books).
- Academic journals, magazines, and newspapers.
- Rare and historical manuscripts.
- Collection of research papers and monographs.
- Reserved textbooks for coursework.
3. Digital and Technological Facilities
- Internet and Wi-Fi services.
- Printing and scanning services.
4. Facilities for Members
- Book borrowing and returning system.
- Library membership cards.
