Thesis Defense of the First Doctoral Candidate Successfully Conducted.
Today, Saturday, the thesis defense of the first doctoral candidate from the Department of Judiciary and Islamic Politics, Faculty of Sharia, at Afghan International Islamic University was successfully held for the first time in a formal session.
The session was attended by the Honorable Minister of Higher Education, Sheikh al-Hadith wal-Quran Mawlawi Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the Acting President of Afghan International Islamic University, Pohandoy Dr. Rafiullah Atta, university vice chancellors, deans of faculties, professors of the Faculty of Sharia, and students.
At the beginning of the session, the Acting President of the university, Dr. Rafiullah Atta, welcomed the participants and expressed gratitude to the Honorable Minister of Higher Education for his presence and continued support. He also appreciated the professors of the Faculty of Sharia for their tireless efforts in the academic training of students.
Mr. Atta described the thesis defense of the first doctoral candidate from the Faculty of Sharia as an important and proud milestone for Afghan International Islamic University, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the country’s academic system.
Subsequently, the doctoral candidate, Mawlawi Mohammad Dawood Mansoori, under the supervision of his advisor, Professor Dr. Momen Halimi, presented a summary of his thesis titled (“Religious Rights of Minorities in Islamic Jurisprudence and Afghan Law”). In his presentation, he discussed the concept of minorities, their rights, classification criteria and types, standards of differences, geographical criteria, and other related topics.
This was followed by the formal defense and discussion conducted by the external examiner, Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah Haqyar, and the internal examiner, Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Tahir Sabit, in the presence of the attendees.
At the end of the session, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Wahid Liaqat, congratulated the professors of the Faculty of Sharia and the graduating candidate on this significant academic achievement. The session concluded with a closing prayer.
